Service Intervals

How do you know what service needs to be done and when you need to do it?

The simplest answer is to check your manual! But our team here at Eureka Brake & Automotive is happy to help you out too!

Most vehicles used to all have relatively the same service intervals, but now depending on the type of vehicle and the age of the vehicle service intervals can very widely. Manufacturer’s recommendations vary anywhere from 3,000 miles to 15,000 miles. This big range comes from engine design and different types of oil.

Your manual will have a schedule for maintenance services and inspections.

Service items include; tire rotations, wheel balancing, oil service, coolant service, transmission service, brake system, power steering system, fuel system, differential service and transfer case service.

Inspections include; alignment, cooling system, brakes, steering and suspension, axels, exhaust, tires, lights and emissions, belts and hoses inspections.

It’s good to keep in mind that these suggested intervals are for cars driven in average conditions and serviced regularly. If your car is driven in harsher conditions like a lot of vehicles in Humboldt County, it’s a good idea to have your vehicle serviced sooner than the suggested intervals to prevent any unnecessary strain on your car. Harsher conditions include dusty dirt roads, extreme temperatures and towing heavy loads, just to name a few.

If your car is due for service give us a call!

Safe driving from us here at Eureka Brake & Automotive!
